Q. When does the effort of separating religion and state become a religion in itself?
A. When the French do it.
To wit: in less than two weeks, Eric Besson, the French minister for Immigration, Integration and National Identity, will open a colloquium on “National Identities, European Identities” with leading European ministers and intellectuals in attendance. And the wearing of head scarves by girls in school has been portrayed as a Trojan Horse that would Islamicize all of France.
Now we know why the French presented us with the Statue of Liberty. To encourage America to accept all furriners so their gang wouldn’t have to deal with them.
Beyond the reach of Obama-care, as is the cost of health care: “an increasing share of young physicians, burdened by medical school debts and seeking regular hours, are deciding against opening private practices. Instead, they’re accepting salaries at hospitals and health systems.” —NY Times
But spurring on the trend, the economic stimulus plan Congress passed early last year included $20 billion to spur the introduction of electronic health records. Seems this little jewel of a law creates a system that takes more of the time and money of doctors, so it will become nearly impossible to run a small, personable practice any more.
And you were already upset over the 2-hour wait followed by five minutes with the doctor. We would say your doctor, but that concept is about to be replaced by the concept of a robot rushing into the exam room, checking your digitized records stored in that 20-billion-buck computer and informing you that an assistant will tell you what prescription has been automatically sent to your drug store and hand you a print-out of your diagnosis, prognosis, instructions and next appointment.
But mind you, everybody will have insurance. And will pay through the nose for it.
We leave you with this quote: “How strange is the lot of us mortals! Each of us is here for a brief sojourn; for what purpose he knows not, though he sometimes thinks he senses it.” —Albert Einstein
And a method of dealing with the idiots around you: Dealing With Idiots
